A solid timber wall lamp with a touch strip down the body. Run a finger along it and it steps through three brightness levels, from something you would leave on all evening up to enough to read by.
The useful part is that it is battery powered and charges over USB. A wall light normally means a power point in the right place or an electrician; this one goes wherever the wall is. Beside a bed with no socket behind it, up a stairwell, in a rental, in a caravan.
Beech is pale and even. Sapele is a red-brown hardwood with more figure in it and reads darker on a white wall. The light itself is neutral white.

Fitting & care
Most pieces arrive ready to use. Wall lights mount with the adhesive pad or the two screws in the box, and rechargeable pieces are worth charging fully before the first night.
Care
- Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth, no solvents or household cleaners
- Keep water away from anything not rated for outdoor use
- Top up rechargeable pieces every few months if they are stored unused
