A mirrored cube with tulips inside it. The mirror backing repeats the flowers and the light between them, so the box looks several times deeper than it is, and looking into it is a bit like looking down a corridor.
It comes as a kit with everything needed to build it, which takes an evening and no tools. Half the point is making it; the other half is that it ends up on a bedside table giving off a low coloured light that nobody can quite work out the depth of.
Battery powered, so it can go anywhere.

Fitting & care
Most pieces arrive ready to use. Wall lights mount with the adhesive pad or the two screws in the box, and rechargeable pieces are worth charging fully before the first night.
Care
- Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth, no solvents or household cleaners
- Keep water away from anything not rated for outdoor use
- Top up rechargeable pieces every few months if they are stored unused

Every Aria Luminae light starts with what it is made of. Solid timber rather than veneered board, aluminium rather than painted plastic, and acrylic thick enough to soften an LED instead of letting it glare straight through.
A lamp beside a bed gets switched on every night for years. It is worth the extra to have it feel like an object rather than a gadget, and to have it still look right in the room long after the novelty has gone.
